Lost in bohemia the new video to “La Haine” underlines the hypothermic coolness of Rookley’s beats which is heated up by his lively production style as well as by the expressive moves of the female street dancer.
There is dirt, there is skin and oblivion. Shot in places that would take aback every urban explorer of lost spaces. Indeed the old barracks where the video is shot play a role, underlining the dancer’s confinement. Performing with strong yet simultaneously fragile dancing, she battles herself and everything embracing her solitude.
„ROOKLEY [...] is what would happen if you blend Moderat's spacious, trippy electronic sound with a cool blend of Bonobo/Tycho/Edamame sound elements. Yeah, this already sounds awesome, I know!”
